A Trip to Barranquilla, Colombia

 Had to go up to Barranquilla, Colombia to get my new passport. All the running around took about 2 hours. Get passport photos, fill out the forms, try and locate the zip code for where I'm staying - Colombia does not have a postal system. DHL is the system that the U.S. Passport office uses and they emphasize the dire need for the location you're staying at. I looked for hours trying to find the postal code for Valledupar, the for my particular section of town. Finally, just made a guess.

 When I went to DHL to give the the Postal Code as best as I could figure, found out they do not even ship to Valledupar, I've got to drive back to Barranquilla. 5 hour trip and then to Bogota to get my visa extended. We'll see how that little venture goes!

Stayed at the Hotel Majestic. Only complaint was they do not have any water pressure in the showers. 55 year old hotel with some charm, but they really do need to do something about their showers.

Nice restaurant was nice and the room was a decent size.

Called while we the U.S. Consulate while having breakfast, and they said I had to be there by 9:30 AM. Would have liked to have had more time to enjoy the restaurant.

That's what I get for not planning this stuff out. Last minute stuff and there's always something that interferes with the fun of it all!

Over all a good stay, but for the price, they need to upgrade their water system.
